SpywareStrike is a variant of Smitfraud trojan. SpywareStrike is a clone of infamous SpyAxe and Spysheriff. SpywareStrike is a fake anti-spyware product that displays fake warnings on a Microsoft Windows computer in order to manipulate you into buying its full commercial version.
If you are infected with this program you may receive warnings in your task bar that appear to be from Microsoft Security Center claiming that you are infected with dangerous spyware and offering to download and install its special anti-malware tool.
This tool turns out to be SpywareStrike, rogue spyware remover.
These warnings are fake and are a goad to buy the commercial version of this software. SpywareStrike hijacks the home page and redirects the web browser to SpywareStrike.com. SpywareStrike automatically runs on every Windows startup.

A program called "smitrem" has been written to remove this.

Recently a new clone of SpywareStrike emerged, called SpyFalcon.
